I am chocked for words seeing such exquisite art from a people so unjustly wronged.  Sincere respect, Marlene Mathew, Montreal, Canada - August 2006

I apologise for the injustice, inhumanity and abuse our government is committing iin Iraq.  Your art speaks volumes and I am so ashamed.  Janice Winters, Texas USA - April 2006

iNCiA is a huge and incredible achievment which reflects the beautiful and resiliant Iraqi spirit.  I enjoyed browsing through this wonderful website and enjoyed all the featured artworks.  Please continue with your efforts, which are truly commendable.  John Howard, Vermont, USA - 14 June 2005

Saluting your efforts for this inspiring and highly informative website!  Well done.  With best wishes for what we hope would be a peaceful future in Iraq and the rest of the world.  I am ashamed of what our government is doing in Iraq and to the Iraqi people.                                                                 Prudence Holding, San Diego, California, USA - 4 May 2004

Despite the troubling and terrifying times your country is undergoing at present, it is moving to see that creativity remains and continues regardless.  Iraqi Art is moving and inspirational!  Thank you
Linda Emery, Chicago, USA - 11 February 2004.

Thank you for promoting Iraqi history and art. Your work will certainly contribute to preserve Mesapotamian heritage.

For me, as a Dutch art-historian who is researching Contemporary art of the Arab world, I believe this project (the research, the publication an the
exhibition) is an outstanding achievement to show the dazzling creativity of the Iraqi artists in exile. Finally you, Maysaloun, have given them a
platform so they have the chance to show the world their mostly unknown
(particularly in the West), but nevertheless unique place in the history of
the art in the kaleidoscopic global view. My really best wishes for the
continuation of your project and I hope collaborate in the new future. In
this anxious time, I believe we need more then ever a manner to make a
dialogue. Art may one of the best options. So only for that reason, but also for more (for example the many Iraqi artist who I know in the Netherlands are real authentic and original, as artists as well as human beings).  Although there is a painful history I think that examining the creative talents from Iraq will contribute to build up a more positive and hopeful future. I really support your project.  Floris Schreve <florisschreve@hotmail.com>

May I salute the organisers for this historical accomplishment, which is a
unique testimony to the immense will and genius of the Iraqi spirit! I have
read the Strokes of Genius Book which is as equally impressive as this
presentation. The book is a noteworthy reference source that succeeds in
bringing together Iraq's emerging generation of artists with their
forefathers. I would like to recommend it to anyone with an interest in
Iraqi art in particular, yet to those with a general interest in Iraq as it
touches on important aspects covering Iraq's modern history and politics. I
am truly impressed, well done!

I commend and applaud the monumental efforts of the entire Project Team and am truly astounded by this revolutionary achievement. The artworks displayed are remarkable and live up to the title: Strokes of Genius! It was
through sheer chance I stumbled across your website only to be confronted with a treasure. I will inform all my email buddies to establish contact and visit this unique website. Well done and the best of luck with both the Exhibition and Publication. The need for power and greed is the root to all evil as it will surely bring mankind to its end. It is heartbreaking to see what is going on with the innocent people of Iraq and although I know that such pain will take lifetimes to heal, I can only hope that their suffering will come to an end soon.

the group of people who made it possible to bring such corner of our society
on-line and fill yet another gap that we all miss in this cyber world. Some

proud of you guys if they were still alive. I hope the foundation they have
built and the memories and historic work they have left will never be
